IMAP Service

Everything you need to know about IMAP services

You must have already created a service group in order to create a new service.

Creating an IMAP service

This is a nickname that you can associate to this service.

Creating an IMAP Service

Running an IMAP service

You must run an IMAP services prior you running your tasks, as the IMAP service will not use one-time passcodes in your inbox prior to the service being started.

If your service is created and idle, click the start icon under actions.

Once your IMAP service is running, the service will show LISTENING FOR MESSAGES, this means that the service is actively waiting for new messages to appear in your inbox, and will automatically solve OTP requests within your Notification Tray.

Stopping an IMAP service

If your service is running, click the stop icon under actions.

Once your IMAP Service has been stopped, the service status will show IDLE, this means that the service is no longer running.

SMS OTP via IMAP

To use SMS OTP via IMAP, ensure that your third-party number service supports forwarding SMS messages to email. If you're using a modem, you can configure it to forward incoming SMS messages directly to your designated email address.

Our system is compatible with a wide range of formats, including:

  • SeatHeroes

  • TextChest

  • XYZ Store

  • Most Ejoin modems

Handling Sites with Partial Identifiers

Some websites only display the last four digits of the phone number as an identifier when requesting an OTP. This can create challenges if multiple phone numbers share the same last four digits. To ensure 100% accuracy in mapping OTPs to the correct accounts, we recommend providing the complete phone number associated with the account.

  • Supported Formats:

    • 10 digits (e.g., 5551231234)

    • 11 digits with country code (e.g., 15551231234 for US numbers)

Setting Up IMAP OTP via SMS

Follow these simple steps to get started:

  1. Select SMS as the OTP Type During task creation, choose “SMS” as the preferred OTP delivery method.

  2. Enable IMAP OTP Toggle the IMAP OTP option to "On" to activate SMS OTP retrieval.

  3. Configure Forwarding Ensure your third-party number services or modem are set up to forward SMS messages to your email.

  4. Run Your IMAP Service Launch your IMAP service as you normally would.

Once set up, the running tasks that require OTPs will work seamlessly, just like it was running tasks using IMAP OTP via email.

Limitations

There are limitations for IMAP services. Per defined by Google, you may download 2500 MB worth of emails per day with IMAP per account. This means that if you've received 2500 MB worth of emails, it will throttle (limit) the emails you can receive via IMAP regardless if you can receive emails via your web client inbox.

This limit is quite easily reached if you have thousands of emails forwarded to one email as well as sharing your IMAP account with another person or running multiple clients.
